Juror Eric Fischl has awarded Deborah Freedman the Ron Pokrasso Award: A full private day in the Galisteo Studio in Santa Fe, NM with Ron Pokrasso.
The SOLAR IMPRESSIONS juried exhibition at the Southampton Arts Center (Nov. 16 - Dec. 29th) features works created using light sensitive plates. This scientific process, developed by master printmaker Dan Welden, is noteworthy for the health and environmental safety involved. All works in the show were processed with sunlight or UV light and tap water to harden and etch the light sensitized steel backed polymer plates. No acids or hazardous chemicals are used.
